KIZ Supports the Enhancement of Thailand's National Water Information Platform and Promotes Climate Awareness Among Youth

On 16 July 2026, Kabinburi Industrial Zone Co., Ltd. (KIZ), led by Mr. Samart Asarassakorn, CEO, attended "The New ThaiWater: Advancing Thailand's National Water Information Platform" Press Conference and the launch of "ThaiWater Challenge: Building a Nationwide Youth Network for Water and Climate Awareness." The event was held at the Press Conference Room, Ground Floor, King Mongkut Building, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Yothi.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). During the event, policy directions were delivered to the governors of the eight upper northern provinces—Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Lamphun, Chiang Rai, Nan, Phayao, and Phrae—as well as to MHESI regional networks across the country, encouraging the adoption of data from the ThaiWater platform and provincial water information websites to support water monitoring, disaster preparedness, public communication, and integrated water resource management based on a unified national data platform.

The event also marked the official launch of the "ThaiWater Challenge", a collaborative initiative between the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), the United Nations Global Compact Network Thailand (UNGCNT), the Digital Council of Thailand (DCT), and the Student Loans Fund (SLF). The project is sponsored by Kabinburi Industrial Zone Co., Ltd. (KIZ), True Corporation Plc., Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), and T.C. Pharmaceutical Industries Co., Ltd. (TCP).

The initiative aims to establish a nationwide network of university students equipped with knowledge and practical skills in utilizing water and climate data. Participants will learn to monitor, analyze, and communicate information through creative media before sharing their knowledge with local communities and society.

KIZ remains committed to fostering collaboration with strategic partners to advance knowledge and innovation in water resource management, strengthen resilience to climate change, and contribute to sustainable social development.
